The Department of Family and Community Medicine at the UICOMR is an innovative and growing academic department with robust clinical services, teaching opportunities for medical students and residents, and a research division to support your scholarship interests. We are the largest clinical department of our medical school which enrolls 240 students, of which 25% of graduates enter Family Medicine residencies. We have a 9-9-9 residency program and fellowships in Addiction Medicine (new) and Headache Medicine. Our physician faculty practice full-spectrum Family Medicine and maintain an inpatient service, OB service and ambulatory practice in our university FQHC. Our department is committed to community engagement at all levels. We also provide medical services for our 1000 inmate county jail. Rockford is a vibrant city of approximately 240,000 people with excellent restaurants, entertainment, sports, and public and private schools. Rockford is centrally located 70 miles from Chicago, 55 miles from Madison and 73 miles from Milwaukee.
