There has been an alarming rate of rise in substance use disorders in older adults in the US. Despite these recent trends, older adults face many barriers to care, leaving them vulnerable to complications from their use disorders. This session will review specific considerations when caring for older adults with SUD. We will highlight potential non-traditional models of care that may be implemented across different healthcare settings including the outpatient clinic and nursing facilities.
