I'm Dr. Sarah Usher, MD, an Addiction Medicine Fellow with the University of Minnesota who completed Emergency Medicine residency at Hennepin Healthcare, an urban center with an underserved population, which spurred my desire to pursue specialization in this field. I plan to promote the incorporation of evidence-based addiciton care in the emergency department setting and ultimately hope to develop a deeper connection between the specialties to provide opportunities for improved outcomes.
