Dr. Ponni Perumalswami is a Professor of Internal Medicine and Psychiatry at the University of Michigan where she is currently the Director of the Multidisciplinary Alcohol Liver Disease program. As a transplant hepatologist and health services researcher, she is focused on substance use disorders, liver disease and developing innovations in care. She is a staff gastroenterologist who serves as the Director of the Liver Clinic at the Ann Arbor Healthcare System, an Investigator in Center for Clinical Management Research in the VA, and oversees Mental Health/Medical/Substance Use Disorder Integration Evaluation within the Serious Mental Illness Treatment Resource and Evaluation Center in the Office of Mental Health.
