Gargi Bhattacharya, MD, is a psychiatrist and Addiction Medicine Fellow at Stanford University School of Medicine. She completed her Psychiatry residency at Cleveland Clinic Akron General, where she served as Chief Resident, and built a focused clinical and academic portfolio centered on substance use disorders in patients with co-occurring psychiatric illnesses. Her work emphasizes addiction care in medically complex populations, particularly transplant and oncology patients, as well as the clinical implications of emerging substances of concern. Dr. Bhattacharya also takes a keen interest in the application of interventional and neuromodulatory modalities in the treatment of substance use disorders. Following completion of her Addiction Medicine fellowship, she will pursue a Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, further strengthening her work at the intersection of psychiatry, addiction, and complex medical illness. Additionally, Dr. Bhattacharya is an ASAM Ruth Fox Scholarship Award recipient this year.
