Dr. Daniel Bebo whose career reflects more than two decades of clinical leadership, academic engagement, and dedication to improving care for individuals with substance use and co‑occurring psychiatric disorders.
He completed residency training in Categorical Internal Medicine at Kettering Medical Center as well as Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine Fellowship at the University of Cincinnati. During this period, he gained extensive experience in acute outpatient addiction treatment, dual‑diagnosis care, and harm‑reduction modalities including methadone and buprenorphine. He also served as a clinical investigator in addiction medicine research and clinical trials, contributing to the evidence base guiding modern treatment approaches.
At the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, he served as an Addiction Medicine Physician and Study Physician within the Addiction Sciences Division. As well as later becoming Associate Medical Director and then Medical Director of the UCPC Opioid Treatment Program. He expanded his work nationally as Associate Medical Director of Detox Services and Senior Instructor within the University of Colorado’s Department of Family Medicine.
Returning to Cincinnati, he subsequently joined faculty at UC assuming progressive leadership roles within the Addiction Sciences Division. He serves as Director of Clinical Servicesand as Clinical Co-Lead for the Care Innovation and Community Improvement Program with a focus on connections to substance treatment care.
Dr. Bebo has cultivated a longstanding clinical and academic interest in the care of dual‑diagnosis patients, recognizing the complex interplay between psychiatric illness and substance use disorders. His work consistently emphasizes integrated, evidence‑based treatment models that address both conditions simultaneously to improve long‑term outcomes. In addition to his expertise in substance‑related disorders, he has developed a focused commitment to the assessment and treatment of behavioral addictions, including gambling, compulsive sexual behavior, and emerging technology‑related addiction.
