Emily Bacon, PhD, is a research and data analytics consultant affiliated with Denver Health and Hospital Authority and its Center for Addiction Medicine and Public Health Institute. Dr. Bacon trained as a social demographer with an emphases in population health analytics, statistical analysis using electronic health records (EHRs), and health inequalities. Dr. Bacon has fifteen years of experience in informatics, specifically working with EHR-based disease surveillance systems, and health equity research. She has developed quality assurance systems for distributed health data networks, led efforts to perform privacy preserving record linkage (PPRL) across diverse data systems, designed programs to create survey weights and population coverage estimates for EHR surveillance systems, and led research on health disparities at Denver Health. Dr. Bacon has worked on CDC and NIH funded projects and has published research in the areas of distributed health data networks and health disparities.
