Dr. Warren Yamashita MD MPH is a double-board certified Family Medicine and Addiction Medicine physician serving as the Director of Addiction Medicine of Harbor Community Health Centers in Los Angeles, California. He also works as an Addiction Medicine consultant at Los Angeles County El Monte Comprehensive Health Center part-time. He completed his Addiction Medicine Fellowship at Stanford where he is adjunct faculty and teaches the Stigma and Disparities Structural Competency curricula. He specializes in Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) substance use treatment and is the lead investigator of a qualitative study looking at the impact of culture on substance use treatment engagement. Dr. Yamashita also serves on the Board of Directors of the Asian American Drug Abuse Program (AADAP). He is passionate about caring for the whole person and addressing stigmas that contribute to addiction, overdoses, and poor health in our communities.
