Ms. Presleigh Beshirs is a Master of Social Work student at California State University, Bakersfield with an anticipated graduation in May 2025. In addition to serving as a research assistant, Ms. Beshirs is conducting a qualitative research study on the acceptability of street medicine and has received the honor of being selected as a Student Research Scholar. Additionally, Ms. Beshirs has completed practicum placements in locked, adult psychiatric units and integrated street and shelter medicine teams to advance her competency in behavioral health and addiction treatment among structurally vulnerable populations. Currently, she is completing her advanced placement with an integrated harm reduction program focused on promoting equitable access to harm reduction and addiction recovery services through low-barrier interventions, such as harm reduction vending machines and field-based services, where she plans to pursue employment post-graduation.
