Morgan Zipperly, MD, PhD is currently a Psychiatry PGY3 resident in the Pathways research track at the University of Colorado, where she is a member of the Schacht Lab. She is a graduate of the Medical Scientist Training Program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She completed her graduate studies in the Neurobiology Department in the Day Lab, receiving her PhD in July 2020 as part of the Cell, Molecular, & Developmental Biology theme. Her dissertation focused on dopamine-dependent transcriptional dynamics, neurophysiology, and behavioral adaptations related to acute cocaine reward in a rodent model system. Her clinical interests include addiction psychiatry and co-occurring disorders, LGBTQ+ mental health, interventional psychiatry approaches, and translational research.
