Medical Student
Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine
Kelly B. Ahern, B.S. is a fourth-year medical student at Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine. After graduating from Saint Louis University in 2016, she worked full-time for five years as a clinical research assistant in geriatric psychiatry at Washington University in St. Louis on various clinical trials addressing age-related cognitive decline, late-life treatment-resistant depression, cardiac rehabilitation, and COVID-19. During this time, she was inspired by the groundbreaking psychiatric research surrounding her and decided to take the requisite courses to pursue medical school. She completed a post-baccalaureate premedical certificate through Washington University in 2020 while continuing to work full-time. During her time in medical school, she continued to explore her interest in psychiatry and became very excited about the prospects of neuromodulation for the treatment of various psychiatric disorders. She would like to sincerely thank her (very patient!) mentors and extraordinary team members for their contributions in making this project possible.
