University of Pittsburgh Medical Center
Cynthia "Cindy" Pathmathasan is an Addiction Medicine Fellow at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) with additional training in Perinatal Addiction Medicine throughhhh UPMC Magee Women's Hospital. Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Cindy earned both her medical degree and a Master of Arts in Medical Ethics and Humanities from Northeast Ohio Medical University. Her interest in addiction medicine was sparked after attending the Summer Institute for Medical Students at Hazelden Betty Ford Center, an experience that shaped her career path. She then completed a family medicine residency at St. Margaret Hospital, where her early exposure to Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) and Medication-Assisted Withdrawal (MAUD) strengthened her dedication to helping individuals with addiction. Eager to expand her expertise, Cindy pursued an Addiction Medicine Fellowship at UPMC to better serve her patients. Outside of her medical work, she enjoys reading, dancing, and spending time with her friends and family.
