Medical Student
The Ohio State College of Medicine
Elizabeth Abrams, MSPH is a third-year medical student at The Ohio State University College of Medicine aiming to develop expertise at the intersection of clinical medicine and public health. After undergraduate training, she completed a Master’s degree in Public Health which focused on health behavior change and community-based participatory research methods, implemented in collaboration with and support of populations receiving suboptimal care and/or which are under-engaged by the health care system. She researched care systems for people who use drugs and those living with HIV, including implementation and evaluation of programs aiming to reduce HIV viral load among youth locally and globally. Next, she lead substance use intervention programs as a Project Coordinator for the Washington, DC Hospital Association, where involvement with physicians, scientists, community partners, and patients ultimately led her to medical school. At OSUCOM, she has been involved in HIV and addiction research projects and co-founded Street Medicine at OSU. She hopes to one day practice addiction medicine.
