Dr Falade-Nwulia is an Associate Professor at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD. Her research has focused on understanding the distribution and impact of treatments for hepatitis and HIV infections on clinical outcomes for people who inject drugs and improving access to HCV/HIV and drug use treatment among people who inject drugs. A particular focus of her research is understanding the transmission of and care uptake for hepatitis C (HCV) using social network and molecular (such as phylogenetic) tools; as a bridge to development of sustainable interventions to increase HCV cure rates, prevent HCV transmission and reinfection and thus control HCV at the population level. She served as Medical Director of the Baltimore City Health Department Ryan White funded HIV Early Intervention Initiative program from 2012-2015 and also designed, implemented and directed the Baltimore City Health department HCV testing, linkage to care and treatment programs. She also served on the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD)/ Infectious Disease Society of America (IDSA) HCV Guidance Expert Panel from 2015 to 2020. She is an executive board member of the International Network on Health and Hepatitis in Substance Users (INHSU). She provides HIV, hepatitis andsubstance use disorder care including buprenorphine prescription at the Johns Hopkins Infectious Disease Clinic.
