Dr Luna Xiaoyan Lu, PsyD, is the Clinical Director at the Asian American Senior Citizens Service Center (AASCSC) in Orange County, California. She holds a doctorate in Applied Clinical Psychology and a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy from The Chicago School. Dr Luna has over 12 years of clinical experience providing mental health services across the lifespan in diverse settings, including community health agencies, hospitals, substance use treatment programs, schools, and justice-involved systems.
Her doctoral research examines the relationship between sensory processing sensitivity and substance use disorders, with a focus on sensory-emotional traits, vulnerability, and recovery processes. She is a passionate advocate for health equity and culturally responsive care, and currently serves as Co-Chair of the Orange County Behavioral Health Equity Steering Committee and co-leads the AAPI workgroup. Her work integrates research, clinical practice, and equity-driven approaches to advance person-centered and trauma-informed care in addiction and community mental health settings.
