Dr. Aurora Quaye is an Assistant in Anesthesia in the Department of Anesthesia at Tufts Medical School and is an attending anesthesiologist at MaineHealth Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME through Spectrum Healthcare Partners. She earned her medical degree from Harvard Medical School, completed her residency in anesthesiology at Massachusetts General Hospital, and pursued fellowship training in Regional Anesthesia and Acute Pain Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA.
Dr. Quaye’s research has centered on improving care for patients with opioid use disorder (OUD) in the inpatient setting, with a particular focus on perioperative and critical care environments. She has contributed to efforts to develop evidence-based guidelines for perioperative buprenorphine management, as well as intensive care unit based initiatives focused on the continuation and initiation of medications for OUD. This work has informed clinical practice across multiple institutions and aims to improve care transitions, reduce opioid related complications, and support linkage to ongoing treatment after hospital discharge.
