Katrina Shafer is an undergraduate researcher affiliated with St. Rita’s Medical Center and a Bachelor of Science in Biology (Pre-Medical Track) candidate with a minor in Chemistry at Ohio Northern University. She conducted clinical research in the emergency department at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima, Ohio, under the mentorship of Dr. James Chan, on the study titled “Adult Cannabis Use Pattern in a Rural Ohio Community.” Her current interests include family medicine, population health, and patient-centered care across diverse clinical settings. Katrina plans to pursue medical school and is open to exploring multiple specialties through continued clinical and research experiences.
