Alexander M. Harrison Sr, MD is a current second year Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellow at University of Kentucky. Alexander attended Emory University as an undergraduate obtaining a degree in Astrophysics, and a minor in Mathematics. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, he attended The Ohio State University College of Medicine prior to returning to Cleveland where he completed his residency in OBGYN at MetroHealth Medical Center, Case Western University. While in residency, he focused on education and received the resident teaching award. Additionally, he focused on quality and system improvement, serving on the peer review committee and leading quality improvement projects. Since starting fellowship, his primary research focus to date has involved clinical based medicine and community interventions, specifically focusing on treatment of addiction during pregnancy. Education has remained important, and he earned the fellow teaching award his first year. He is a proud father of one son.
