Medical Student
The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences
Chetana Suvarna is a second-year medical student at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Her interest in addiction medicine began while working as an EMT in southwest Virginia, where she frequently encountered opioid overdoses and saw their far-reaching effects on patients and communities. She later volunteered with the SAFE Project in Washington, D.C., focusing on harm reduction education in schools nationwide. In medical school, she aims to better understand how to care for patients with substance use disorder across the continuum of care and hopes to integrate addiction medicine into her future specialty.
