Anooshey Ikhlas, BA, MBE, is a first-year medical student at the University of Michigan Medical School. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience and Master of Bioethics from the University of Pennsylvania. Anooshey is the co-founder of Addiction CaRE Volunteers, a nonprofit dedicated to providing social support and resources for hospitalized patients with substance use disorders. Her academic and research interests include addiction medicine, harm reduction, HIV and PrEP implementation, and ethical practices within hospital settings. She is also involved in Wolverine Street Medicine and the University of Michigan Student-Run Free Clinic, working to expand care for underserved populations.
