Christopher Moreau grew up in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, with his parents and older sister. After completing his undergraduate studies at Bucknell University, he joined Teach For America and taught high school mathematics on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. He later moved to Denver, Colorado, where he continued teaching high school physics and helped establish a charter school in an underserved area of the city.
He went on to attend medical school at the University of Colorado, then matched into a psychiatry residency at the University of Iowa. He remained at Iowa for an additional year to complete a fellowship in Addiction Medicine. He now practices as an attending physician at University of Iowa Health Care, working in inpatient psychiatry and on the Addiction Medicine Consult Service. He is also an assistant residency program director in the department of psychiatry. His professional interests include clinical care, psychotherapy, and teaching residents and medical students.
