KP National Clinical Lead for Harm Reduction and Addiction Medicine
Northwest Permanente PC
Dr Sarah Leitz is an Addiction Medicine Physician in Portland, OR – with Northwest Permanente. Her focus is on increasing awareness of the harms of substance use, along with reducing stigma and normalizing the diagnosis and treatment of substance use disorders. Her interest in Addiction Medicine started early in her career as a Primary Care Physician with Northwest Permanente- seeing the impacts that substance use has on so many, along with the discomfort many physicians have around diagnosing and treating the illness, and the significant relief patients expressed when they were offered treatment options. After many years as a Primary Care Physician she decided to transition to full time Addiction medicine. In addition to her clinical work she is the Kaiser Permanente National Clinical Lead for Harm Reduction and Addiction Medicine and is the Medical Director for the Brookside Center for Residential Addiction Medicine.
