Tanya Gershmel is a Certified Peer and Family Specialist II at Denver Health, working with the Access Transformative Outreach Program (ATOP). She supports clients who frequently use the emergency room and detox center. Tanya leverages her lived experience with substance use and mental health disorders to serve the Denver community. She volunteers with treatment centers, continues her education beyond her bachelor’s degree, and has helped develop peer positions and Alumni clubs.
