Dr. Miao (Jenny), MD, PhD, MPH Hua is the Medical Director and interim Deputy Commissioner of Behavioral Health at the Chicago Department of Public Health. She has overseen expansion of harm reduction, community-based drug checking and MOUD access in Chicago. She completed her residency in public health and preventive medicine at Cook County Health/Northwestern University and her internship in internal medicine at Icahn School of Medicine at Mt. Sinai. She has a PhD in sociocultural anthropology from the University of Chicago. She is board-certified in preventive medicine
