Denver Health & Hospital Authority
Denver, Colorado
Dr. Andrew A. Monte is trained in emergency medicine, medical toxicology, and genetics and practices at Denver Health & Hospital Authority. He performs research on pharmacogenetics and the effects drug use has on public health. He has run numerous larger population studies that characterize the implications of cannabis use and has now focused on the use of psychedelics for mental health and substance use disorder and the public health implications of expanded availability of these drugs. Dr. Monte's team at Rocky Mountain Poison & Drug Safety, a division of Denver Health, has developed new tools to monitor the benefits and risks of psychedelic drug use. Those interested his Dr. Monte's research or the tools available at RMPDS can contact him at andrew.monte@rmpds.org.
