Stephen J. Ryzewicz, MD, DFASAM, FACP is the Medical Director for the inpatient Addiction Consultation Service at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine and in Addiction Medicine by the American Board of Preventive Medicine. He is an Academic Hospitalist and Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School. Dr. Ryzewicz is part of the faculty of the UMass Chan Medical School/Baystate Medical Center Residencies in Internal Medicine and Medicine/Pediatrics. He is a Co-Investigator for the START Trial and served as the Addiction Medicine Specialist for patients enrolled at the Baystate Medical Center site in Massachusetts. He is a Past President and CME Chair for the Massachusetts Society of Addiction Medicine, a past member of the ASAM Medical Specialties Action Group and currently is the Vice-Chair of the ASAM Distinguished Fellows Committee.
