Allison J. Ober, MSW, PhD (UCLA Department of Social Welfare, School of Public Affairs) is a Senior Behavioral Science Researcher at RAND. Dr. Ober has worked in substance use disorder (SUD) research for 25 years. Her recent work has focused on implementing and improving evidence- based treatments in community health and mental health settings for people with substance use disorders. She is currently Principal Investigator of a NIH-funded multisite cooperative agreement examining use of a hospital-based collaborative care team to help patients initiate medication for opioid use disorder in public hospitals and link to treatment in the community after discharge and a study funded by the Foundation for Opioid Response Efforts (FORE) that aims to improve uptake of evidence-based treatment for people with co-occurring mental health conditions and opioid use disorder who receive care in public mental health settings.
