Maggie Williams, MPAS, PA-C, CPAAPA, is an Addiction Medicine Physician Assistant deeply committed to harm reduction, education, and advocacy. Holding a Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Wisconsin, Maggie currently serves on the addiction medicine team at UW Health. Her clinical focus includes the inpatient addiction medicine consult service and the Compass Program, a low-barrier walk-in clinic for substance-related health concerns. Beyond clinical work, she co-directs the Addiction Medicine Path of Distinction at the UW Madison Physician Assistant Program, mentoring and guiding future healthcare professionals in evidence-based practices and harm reduction principles. With past experience in addiction psychiatry care at institutions such as Mayo Clinic and contributions to research on innovative treatments for substance use disorders, such as psilocybin's safety and feasibility in adults with methamphetamine and opioid use disorders, Maggie's dedication underscores her mission to make a meaningful impact in addiction medicine, aiming to create positive change and improve outcomes for people who use drugs.
