Declan Barry, PhD, is a clinical psychologist and Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and in the Child Study Center at Yale School of Medicine. At the APT Foundation, Dr. Barry is Director of Research and Director of Pain Treatment Services. Dr. Barry's research is aimed at: (1) developing and evaluating treatments for patients with chronic pain and substance use disorders and (2) examining the role of psychological, sociocultural, and biological factors in the occurrence and treatment of pain and addictions. He has served as PI or MPI on several NIH-funded clinical trials. Dr. Barry is Co-Editor of (1) Substance Use Disorder Section at Pain Medicine and (2) Pain and Addiction Section at Current Addiction Reports. He is also the Associate Editor of the Journal of Immigrant and Minority Health.
