Wesley Brewington is a dedicated Recovery Support Specialist at Boulder Care, holding the credential of NCPRSS, CDCII and a degree in Rural Human Services. At 39 years old, Wesley brings over a decade of personal experience in recovery from substance use disorder, having celebrated 11 years of sobriety. Originally from England, he moved to the United States as a teenager and has called Alaska home for over 20 years.
With a robust background in peer support and advocacy, Wesley has spent the last nine years helping others navigate their recovery journeys, including motivation speaking at schools and insitutions. His lived experiences with substance use, incarceration, and the recovery process uniquely position him to understand the challenges faced by those he serves. At Boulder Care, where he has worked for three years, Wesley continues to make a significant impact in the lives of individuals seeking support and guidance.
Before joining Boulder Care, Wesley worked with an Alaskan Native organization, further deepening his commitment to community service. He is a graduate of the University of Alaska Fairbanks, where he studied rural human services, equipping him with the knowledge and skills necessary to address the diverse needs of individuals in recovery in rural areas.
Wesley is passionate about fostering a supportive environment for those in recovery and believes in the power of shared experiences. He actively engages in community efforts to raise awareness about substance use disorders and recovery, striving to create a culture of understanding and compassion. Through his work, Wesley aims to inspire hope and empower others to embark on their own paths to recovery.
