Dr. Jessica Young, MD MPH is an Obstetrician-Gynecologist and Addiction Medicine specialist and an Associate Professor at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in the departments of ob-gyn and psychiatry. She got her medical degree, MPH and completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at VUMC. She pioneered and is the medical director for the VUMC program, Firefly, which is an outpatient addiction treatment program for pregnant people that integrates substance use disorder treatment with prenatal, postpartum care, and primary care. She is a past maternal medical director for the Tennessee Initiative for Perinatal Quality Care and continues to lead state wide trainings on substance use disorder in pregnancy. Board-Certified in both Obstetrics-Gynecology and Addiction Medicine, she has spoken nationally on the issue of substance use disorder in pregnancy and is an advocate for pregnant people and their families.
