My name is Rachel King, CPRS (Certified Peer Recovery Specialist) I am the Lead Recovery Coach at Firefly, Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
I have been in recovery for four years. I struggled with addiction since the age of fifteen and my lifestyle led me to incarceration, loss of custody of my children and homelessness- among many other consequences. I was battling a hopeless state of mind and body but not today! Today I am a devoted mother, daughter, partner, and friend! I walk through the world with a different perspective. I love serving others through empathy, relating to their story, advocacy and walking alongside them without judgement.
