Carole Warshaw, MD, is the Director of the National Center on Domestic Violence, Trauma and Mental Health Director and on faculty in the Department of Psychiatry at University of Illinois, Chicago. She is board-certified in psychiatry and internal medicine. Dr. Warshaw’s work has been instrumental in developing and evaluating best practices and improving system capacities to address the intersections of substance use, trauma, mental health, and intimate partner violence (IPV). She speaks and publishes extensively on these topics and serves as advisor to numerous national organizations and federal agencies. Dr. Warshaw has maintained a private practice in psychiatry since 1989 and is board certified in psychiatry and internal medicine.
