Tehya Johnson, MSN, AGPCNP-BC graduated from the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions and has been working as a board-certified Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner since 2020 at Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program. She also has a B.Sc. in Behavioral Neuroscience from Northeastern University working in preclinical research related to substance use prior to her training in nursing. She began serving in her current role as the Associate Medical Director of the Harm Reduction Team in 2024. She continues to provide care both on street outreach and in the primary care clinic to those at the intersection of experiencing homelessness and substance use disorders. She also provides trainings on xylazine-related topics and wound care through Boston Medical Center’s Grayken Center for Addiction Training & Technical Assistance. She has been deeply involved in statewide advocacy for the development of overdose prevention centers in Massachusetts with SIFMA Now since she was nursing student and serves as a Board Member at the Material Aid and Advocacy Program (MAAP) in Cambridge, MA, in addition to her work promoting compassionate naloxone administration as a clinician and educator.
