This workshop will provide attendees with a basic understanding of the benefits and limitations of artificial intelligence (AI) in research. The workshop will include didactics, live demonstrations of AI, and a hands-on component. Attendees will gain skills to incorporate AI into their research workflow, including using AI to assist with literature reviews, develop grant outlines, and provide mock peer review, and discuss other innovative ways to incorporate AI into research in addiction medicine.

Learners will be able to:

Describe the limitations and risks of using artificial intelligence in addiction research
Construct optimized search queries with iterative improvements
Incorporate basic skills in using artificial intelligence to improve research in addiction medicine
