Dr. Michael Krupp II
Valley Health System
My name is Dr. Michael Krupp II, DO, and I am a PGY-2 psychiatry resident at Spring Valley Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. I aspire to specialize in addiction psychiatry upon completion of my training. Originally from Madison, Wisconsin, I grew up surrounded by friends and family members affected by alcohol and substance use disorders. Witnessing both my grandfather and uncle succumb to this disease profoundly shaped my decision to pursue a career focused on understanding and treating addiction.
Through my education, extracurricular involvement—such as rugby—and personal interests including travel and live music, I have had the opportunity to gain diverse life experiences across a variety of settings. I earned my bachelor’s degree from Clemson University, which included a semester abroad in Córdoba, Argentina, and a summer internship in Anchorage, Alaska. I subsequently relocated to Chicago to obtain my osteopathic medical degree from Midwestern University’s Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine.
I am currently completing my psychiatry residency training in Las Vegas, a region with significant exposure to substance use disorders, which has provided invaluable clinical learning opportunities. In addition to research, I am actively developing a naloxone distribution quality improvement initiative across multiple healthcare facilities in my local community. I am committed to continuing my education in addiction medicine and to making a meaningful, positive impact on both my patients and the communities I serve.
