Michelle Breda, MD, is an internist and Medical Director of Inpatient Addiction Medicine at Saint Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford, Massachusetts. Motivated by inequities she observed in the care of hospitalized patients with substance use disorders while working as a hospitalist, she pursued additional training in addiction medicine and completed an Addiction Medicine fellowship at NYU in 2025. Her interests include interventions that influence healthcare provider behavior and drive system-level culture change, as well as developing innovative strategies to improve transitions of care from the hospital to outpatient settings.
