Allison K.R. Macht, B.S., is a Research Services Professional at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus and a member of the Addiction and Criminal Legal Collaborative (ACL Collab). Her work focuses on the intersection of behavioral health, substance use, and the criminal-legal system. Drawing on a background in psychology and cognitive science, her research examines how trauma, structural inequities, and systemic barriers shape health outcomes for individuals who are incarcerated or under community supervision.
At the ACL Collab, Allison coordinates and manages research projects examining access to substance-use treatment, disability and mental health among justice-involved populations, and the structural barriers that affect engagement with care. Her work emphasizes community-engaged and participant-centered approaches, collaborating closely with community partners and individuals with lived experience to better understand real-world challenges and inform more equitable policies and interventions.
Her broader research interests focus on improving behavioral health outcomes for marginalized populations and advancing evidence-based practices that promote dignity, accessibility, and health equity within criminal-legal and healthcare systems.
