DMD/PhD Candidate
University of Florida
I am Kyle V. Kasparian, a DMD/PhD Candidate at the University of Florida. My research is focused on the effects of medications used to treat Substance Use Disorders (SUDs) on oral health, specifically pertaining to dental caries. I am also a student dentist who provides dental care to patients at the UF College of Dentistry in Gainesville, Florida, under the supervision of attending faculty. I also consistently volunteer as a student dentist providing critical care to underserved populations as part of well-established outreach initiatives. My ultimate goal is to understand the mechanisms underlying increased dental caries risk and progression in patients with SUDs. This will allow us to discover ways to either prevent caries pathogenesis or to better treat and manage caries in patients with SUDs.
In my free time, I enjoy playing pickleball, rock climbing, and relaxing on the beach.
