Juleigh Nowinski Konchak MD MPH is System Director for Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Services at Cook County Health (CCH), one of the largest safety net healthcare systems in the United States. In this role, Juleigh supports strategic planning, quality improvement and assurance, implementation, and evaluation of SUD programming and treatment across the health system. As a board-certified addiction medicine and public health/preventive medicine physician, Juleigh provides clinical care at one of CCH's primary care health centers with a co-located Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) and at CCH's jail-based OTP. She is core faculty for the Preventive Medicine Residency Program at CCH/Northwestern University.
Juleigh has a master in public health degree from Northwestern University, completed her preventive medicine and public health residency with CCH/Northwestern University, and attended the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine. Prior to her medical training, Juleigh held several public sector roles in policy and public health including Director of Health Systems Integration with the Chicago Department of Public Health, Special Assistant to the Assistant Secretary for Health at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and Health Policy Legislative Assistant in the U.S. Senate. Juleigh previously served as Medical and Community Health Lead for Addiction Services at Heartland Health Outreach, a healthcare for the homeless federally-qualified health center in Chicago.
