Are you aware that less than a quarter of eligible Black and Hispanic patients with substance use disorder receive HIV Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP)? Join a workshop session that promises to equip you with the needed evidence-based knowledge and skill to engage your ethnic minority patients for HIV-PrEP screening, assessment, initiation, and maintenance. The workshop includes navigating through barriers and challenges involved in HIV-PrEP treatment via didactic lecture, small group session and role-playing simulations.

Learners will be able to:

Upon completion, Participants will be able to describe the disparities that exist in the percentage of eligible minorities with substance use disorder that are presently receiving HIV PrEP.
Participants will develop the necessary skill needed to communicate effectively and engage eligible minority patients with Substance use disorders in HIV PrEP use
Participants will understand and be able to navigate through challenges surrounding PrEP for minorities with SUDs
