Monitored by experts in pediatric addiction and emergency medicine, this session will engage participants in controversial discussions surrounding the development of optimal strategies for addressing OUD in adolescent ED patients. Through moderated small group discussions, participants will provide formative input into the draft Best Practices document and learn how to apply the practices in their local healthcare systems.

Upon completion of this workshop, participants will be conversant in the most up to date practices in buprenorphine initiation in adolescents in the acute care setting.
Participants in this activity will have the opportunity to reflect on and shape the guidance being developed on the initiation of buprenorphine for adolescents in the acute care setting
After this experience, participants should feel empowered to initiate adolescent treatment protocols for OUD in their own institutions.
